The issue resolves itself into whether a reasonable woman under years of terrible abuse and bullying, who is a teacher, with support of friends and family, separated and in divorce proceedings, with presumed police protection, would perceive she had no other safe avenue but to hire a contract killer of her husband.
The court ruled yes on the basis of duress--that her action was morally involuntary.
